Plasma exchange (PLEX) accelerated clearance of natalizumab

As we all know, Tysabri is the most effective MS drug currently on the market. We also know that it has this pesky little problem that some people get PML, a fatal brain disease. Efforts are being made to detect this possibility as soon as possible, so people can be pulled off the drug and treated for PML.

But the problem remains that the drug hangs around in your system for quite a while and makes your immune system less effective at fighting off the JC virus that causes PML. So it would be good if there were a way to more quickly clear the drug from the body. It seems that PLEX may be that way.
