Are you type A or type B personality?

Suggested by an MSNews reader - tell us your personality type. If you are unfamiliar with these 2 types, you can read a short description here, take a short test here, or a long one here. Perhaps the stress/MS connection will show up in this poll.

Type A

Type B
44% (134 votes)

I'm not sure how to vote. I was definitely a type A before MS really got its grip on me. Now that I've been forced to slow down I am a type B.

Good point. Vote what you *are*, not what you are forced to be. Sounds like you are type A.

It says I'm an A- / B+ lol maybe i should take the longer test..

I took the short test and am an A- or B+. I have no idea what type I'd be like without MS (17 years). I was 23 when diagnosed.

Short test rated me A- or B+ too. Long test was fun, came back a definite A. The field that I was in is considered one of the "higher stress" areas and some believe that the stress of my job speeded up my MS decline. Funny but I never really felt stressed when working! Did I have a greater tolerance to stress, kind of like one's tolerance to pain? It's only when I finally DID feel the stress because of changes in the working environment that I decided it was in my best interest to "hang it up". But even in retirement, I'm definitely a type A.

I am a definite Type "A", although I have slowed down due to my MS.

My employment kept me in the Type "A" personality status for 13 years - Fire Dept - Emergency Communications Dispatcher.

My Doctor told me that I should not subject to stressful conditions, which was dragging me health down. True Fact!

When I became a stay-at-home 'wife', things become much better.

It will 'truly' be interesting to see if there is a "stress/MS" connection!

Great Poll,

Thanks!

Kathy

There is little doubt in my mind that my type A behavior had set my nervous system on fire. I slowed down, but still have more stamina than most 'healthy' individuals I know.

Wow, it's interesting to read peoples comments about being an "A", but slowing down since diagnsis. I am, have always been, and always will be an "A". I do commit to less things now, but only because I need more SLEEP now. I'm still as busy as ever, much to my husbands dismay!

I was a definite Type B on the long test: very unambitious re: my career, not many personal goals, etc. But don't play Scrabble or tennis with me: I am very competitive!

Type A with B+ qualities. I am a true mix...

I also have changed since finding out about MS, partially out of necessity (can't do as much physically due to weakness and fatigue) and partially because I feel better with less stress. Being mindful of reducing stress, using psychotherapy and occasionally yoga, has improved my life greatly.

I was a high-risk obstetrician and have often wondered how much of a role the stress played in my MS. I loved my job but had great physical demands (very little sleep) and emotional demands, between my patients and looking after my family. I guess I was much more of a type A in the past, but definitely B now.

I am definitely Type A slowed down by this darn disease. I try hard to remain Type A but it just doesn't happen and I end up in bed.

I took the short test and found that it was not comprehensive enough to determine whether I was a type "A" or type "B". May I take the the long test in addition to the short test so I can have a more accurate idea if I'm more A or more B?

of course!

Hello everyone, I'm new here to this site, I took the f#$&'n test last night and it put me at a "C" so what does that mean? I wish I had more time to fool around with this stuff, but between watching my 5 kids and looking for a job, trying to complete my real estate continuing education and trying to put my own home on the market, I may not be able to come back for awhile. When I take my 4th dose of Tysabri (working great!) I may come back and see whaz happenen.

OI think I more like type B personality, to be honest, but I have some of the type A characteristics too. I think you can’t be one of these types entirely! I think it’s just about a combination between these two and important is which one rules! :P

Iam a type A maybe a bit of b as well though

I'm definitely an A type....well, most days.

I guess I am a bit boring....I'm a type B.
